Office buildings: They are commonly used by employees to move between floors during the workday. 3. Hotels: Elevators are vital in hotels, particularly for guests to access their rooms and other amenities on upper floors. 4. Shopping malls: Large malls often have elevators to help shoppers navigate through multiple levels of stores and eateries. 5. Apartments and condominiums: Residential buildings with multiple floors usually have elevators to facilitate the movement of residents and their belongings. 6. Hospitals: Healthcare facilities rely on elevators to transport patients, staff, and equipment between floors. 7. Public transportation hubs: Some subway or train stations, especially those with underground platforms, use elevators to access them. Regarding an elevator operator's role, traditionally, elevator operators were responsible for controlling the movement of elevators manually, using a panel of levers or switches. They would ensure the smooth and safe transportation of passengers by operating the elevators as needed, opening and closing doors, and signaling passengers when it was safe to board or exit. However, with modernization and automation, the need for traditional elevator operators has significantly diminished.
