In my translation practice, the application of "shift of perspective" (conversion technique) plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, fluidity, and naturalness of the translated text. Specifically, I utilize this technique in several key aspects. Firstly, I recognize that languages often have different grammatical structures and expressive patterns, requiring me to convert word classes or sentence elements to adapt to the target language. For instance, when translating from English to Chinese, I might convert nouns into verbs or adjectives to make the sentence more natural. Secondly, I employ the conversion of expressive modes to bridge cultural differences. For example, when dealing with idiomatic expressions, I convert them into equivalent cultural references in the target language to ensure cultural sensitivity. Lastly, I make use of shifts in the order of information to facilitate comprehension. In some cases, the logical order of sentences or paragraphs in the source language may not align with the target language's conventions. By reorganizing the order of information, I can create a more coherent and logical flow in the translation.
